Fast shipping. Received adapter in same condition as described by seller. Very pleased with my purchase and I would buy from this seller again.
It worked immediately and it's just great to be able to have that second monitor there so you can stretch out your workspace and windows across two monitors. So, if you have the new Aluminum MacBook 13-inch, don't get this one. I read the Amazon reviews about this product, which said that people bought it for their "MacBook," but didn't realize that they were written for the earlier generation MacBooks, which use the mini-DVI. I even had already opened the packaging, and they didn't charge me any sort of "restocking" fee for that. I think the MacBook Pro came with the aluminum body earlier than the MacBook. I think the miniDisplay port is only on the newest generation of MacBook Pro's with the unibody aluminum body. The new aluminum MacBooks now use a different port, the MiniDisplay port, which is much smaller than the mini-DVI slot and looks kinda like a mini-USB port, except with rounded corners on the bottom. I contacted the seller, CE Compass, who very professionally just allowed me to exchange it and I only ended up paying $5.95 shipping, which is much better than having to buy a new one and keep an adaptor I couldn't use.
Get the mini-Display port to VGA adaptor, also available on Amazon. (Note: this review was written in May 2009)By the way, I do like the mini-Display port to VGA adaptor just fine. I bought this for my new aluminum MacBook to connect to a flat panel VGA monitor. Luckily, I was able to exchange this product with no problems. I can't really speak for MacBook Pro.
Just don't move it around too much or it will fall out of a macbook easy. The first one got banged up a little and went out after about 2 years.
It's hard to find it elsewhere. I'm a teacher, so I take it back and forth to work and it got banged around a lot.
Be sure to handle with care and keep the plastic covers and keep the connections covered if you transport it around. Probably this is the only place it's sold.
Works great but has a relative loose connection at the computer port. Also this is my second one.
Handle with extreme care to avoid buying another one.
Works great to hook my mac up to other devices specifically an external vga monitor. This product works great as was specified. I highly recommend this product.
I also own the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter which I have owned for over a year and have had no issues (With DAILY USE).Since I got the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter I noticed the Mini DVI side to be quite a tight fit, but expected it to last at least 6 months. I bought the adapter to use at home (Weekends Mostly) and within 3 months I started having issues with the adapter, Yesterday the unit went dead. Truly disappointing.
